tips and watch-outs from families who've been there
sleep
- All 46 rooms are stunning. They all have outdoor space, mini-fridges with complimentary beverages and snacks.
- The Sky Rooms (smallest room category) have a walk-in closet that fits a crib.
- They offer sleeping teepees for toddlers and can put sheets on the small couch at the foot of each King bed for kids 12 and under.
- For older kids, all king beds can be converted into two twin beds and all rooms except the Sky Room can accommodate rollaways (may charge a $100 fee)
- All Earth Suites have a connecting option and are an easy walk to the main lodge. (Only the Deluxe Earth Suites have bathtubs.)
- If you want more space, there are a few two-bedroom suite options - the two-story Signature Suites and the single-story Red Tail Suite.
- Your kids will look adorable in the provided kids' robes.
- Creek Houses are adults-only (so we’ve excluded them from this site).
play
- There’s an extensive list of outdoor activities (horseback riding, biking, fly fishing, hiking, yoga, disc golf, farm tours… and more). We recommend working with the concierge team to plan your stay.
- Younger kids will love wandering the property and exploring the creek. If you're more adventurous, there are 40 miles of trails to explore right from the resort.
- Kids Club (ages 5–12) is free in the mornings — we love its emphasis on outdoor play. They are strict on no kids under 5.
- The views from the infinity pool are gorgeous. The pool is heated year-round, so you can even use it in the winter! There aren’t shallow areas and seating is somewhat limited, but it rarely feels crowded since many guests are off adventuring.
- The on-property hiking trail system ranges from easy to challenging. They provide maps, backpacks, and hiking poles.
- In the summer, they often play movies outside.
- The lodge library has toys, books, and games.
- The path from the Earth Suites to the main lodge is paved, but we recommend an all-terrain stroller if you plan to explore further. (They’re also happy to shuttle you.)
- Keep your eyes out for the resident moose!
eat
- The food here is outstanding. While on-property options are somewhat limited, there are often rotating experiences and special dining events to keep things fresh.
- Solid kids’ menu, and kids under 10 eat free year-round.
- Rooms are stocked with complimentary snacks.
- Kids can enjoy food from The Bar out on the terrace.
- The staff can organize a family picnic for lunch.
- You can get a s’mores kit to use at your room’s fire pit.
- Much of the food is grown on property at Gracie’s Farm, which you can tour with your kids.
