tips and watch-outs from families who've been there

sleep

  • All rooms have large bathtubs, a fireplace, and a terrace or balcony
  • Tahoe king rooms (500 sq ft) have a small sofa that could sleep a young kid, as does the 750 sq. ft. Tahoe Premiere (king or two queen rooms)
  • All suites have a door separating the bedroom and the living room
  • The Villa Suites opened in 2022 and are available in 2-5 bedrooms

play

  • The heated outdoor pool is open year-round and has great views of the lake
  • There's a huge lawn for kids to run around
  • Board games are available in the great room
  • In the winter, there's an ice rink on the property and a ski butler to help get your gear to the slopes, which is super helpful when you have small kids
  • There's often live music in the Great Room on the weekend
  • On Thursday nights in the summer, there's a kid-friendly movie on the lawn
  • You can kayak from the resort's dock or have the hotel arrange a boat outing

eat

  • Food is good and there are formal and casual options; reservations are recommended for dinner
  • There's a coffee shop that opens at 6am
  • Don't miss the nightly s'mores
  • You can walk (or take the free shuttle) to other restaurants off-property
